Firstly, practice the moonwalk by standing still and then do it sliding across the stage. The moonwalk consists of sliding your foot backwards while always keeping one foot pointed and applying weight to it. You are taught the moves slowly at first and then in real time. You get a nice break in between the moves to practice and catch up with your instructor.
